We have added a new automation to merge translations when they are ready. When this component and the "website-pages" component are 100% translated with 0% failing checks, the language will be automatically sent to be merged into production.

We just posted a big red banner on f-droid.org to call attention to https://keepandroidopen.org/ ! There is only one sentence that needs to be translated. I'm monitoring the translations and will include them on f-droid.org as soon as they are ready.

We're overhauling the texts on the front page, about, contribute and donate. The first new texts are available for translation already. We'd like to get as much as possible translated before launching at the end of this week. As usual, translations will always be merged as they are completed, so if you can't make it by the end of the week, your updates will still be merged.

There are a lot of new strings coming your way soon for the upcoming fdroidclient 2.0 alpha. Now would be a good time to review the source strings. We are looking for feedback to make sure the source strings work well for translators, and lead to translations that work well in the UI.

The new strings are all the strings after the comment New strings to be merged into the above ones as soon as old code and usages were removed, starting around line 827: https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroidclient/-/blob/e337cf031ea249b4dde5406cbca6161d4696bee6/app/src/main/res/values/strings.xml#L820

The merge request https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroidclient/-/merge_requests/1607 or the #fdroid-translators:f-droid.org channel are both good places to offer suggestions.

For the upcoming v1.23 release, we're overhauling the UI for Material Design 3. There are nice guidelines for how to tailor the language for that. We are applying them to the English source strings: https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroidclient/-/merge_requests/1497
