Welcome to Gugal's translation page.

Please use formal tone when translating Gugal, and preferably don't refer to the user in 2nd person.

If you find any string that is missing from Weblate please file an issue on GitLab (https://gitlab.com/narektor/gugal/-/issues) and add the "missing translation" label.

Translation process
  • Translations can be made directly.
  • Translation suggestions can be made.
  • Any authenticated user can contribute.
  • The translation uses monolingual files.
  • The translation base language is editable.

- Added support for searching using searx or SearXNG. Please note that only instances with API access are supported. Most public instances don't have API access enabled, and it's recommended to self host searx or SearXNG for that reason.
- When Gugal is launched for the first time after an update a list of the changes in that update is shown.
- Added an about page, replacing multiple settings items.
- Added an option to change the credentials.
- Added Russian translation.
- Added Norwegian Bokmål translation (@kingu).
- Fixed scrolling in settings and results.
- Fixed the version text in the Settings page being black.
- On Android 11 and earlier Gugal now uses a light blue color scheme.

For developers:
- Support for more web search engines and on-device searching can be added with SERP providers. To start developing SERP providers see gugal.gitlab.io/serp.

- The search page has been redesigned and now has search history. Searches made before this version will not be shown. Search history is kept when the search engine is changed, and can be erased from the app's settings.
- The search widget has been redesigned.
- When an error occurs with a search engine an error screen is shown.
- When the credentials are incorrect search set-up is automatically shown.
- Added support for Android versions as old as Android 7.0.
- The About page has been cleaned up.
