در صورت گزیدن نام دامنهٔ کامل FQDN به عنوان نام میزبان، هر بخش باید از قواعد فوق برای نویسه‌های مجاز پیروی کرده و طول رشتهٔ کامل نباید بیش از ${maxhostnamelen} نویسه باشد.
