GMT 5 or earlier versions can only generate the PostScript files (see {doc}`basic_concept`), but we can use the built-in commands or a third-party package such as ImageMagick to convert those files. If you want to view PostScript files without installing any software, you can upload them onto Google Drive and use [Google Docs](https://docs.google.com/) to open the files.
