@anonymous: "Cruise" steht hier für die Phase zwischen den Aufwinden ("Circling"). Im Süddeutschen sagt man dazu "Vorfliegen", kurz "Vorflug". Auch denkbar wäre "Geradeausflug" (auch wenn es manchmal eher Zickzack ist) - aber "Reise" kenne ich eher von Motorfliegern.
