Please use "Spanish (Colombia)" for generic Spanish and "Arabic (Egypt)" for common Arabic. The country is only there for technical reasons, it won't show up inside Drawpile.

Instructions for translators

Translations are currently split between desktop and libclient. Both contain stuff to be translated.

The country names are just there for technical reasons, you can disregard them if there's only one version. "Arabic (Egypt)" is supposed to be just Arabic, "Spanish (Colombia)" just Spanish.

When you see an "&" in the text, it's a so-called "accelerator key". Try to keep them on the same letter, otherwise simply leave them out, they're just a small convenience for keyboard navigation. If your language doesn't use letters typed on a keyboard, it's common to put them after the text in parentheses. For example, in Japanese, "&File" becomes "ファイル(&F)".

You don't need to ask for permission to translate something, you can just do it! Translations that are close to 100% probably already have another person working on it, so if you want to change those significantly, maybe try to coordinate with them. You can ask about it on Discord, IRC or GitHub and we can try to find the current translator(s), see https://drawpile.net/help/. Otherwise you two may end up changing the translation back and forth, which would be wasted work.

DO NOT submit auto-generated translations without at least having reviewed and corrected them entirely. If we wanted to blindly feed all our text through the slop machine, we could do it ourselves.
