@zeh00, it is indeed a comma, but in a coding context it is not unusual to display the character in quotation marks rather than naming it.

The text «...the Internet connection runs over a separate router, also called gateway.» doesn't seem to be accurate, since routers and gateways are different types of devices. My suggestion is for the text to be changed to «...the Internet connection runs over a separate device, either a router or a gateway.»
