Below you are asked to provide information about stocks, mutual funds, and other investments that appear in the QIF file(s) you are importing. GnuCash needs some additional details about these investments that the QIF format does not provide.

Each stock, mutual fund, or other investment must have a name and an abbreviation, such as a stock symbol. Because some unrelated investments have the same abbreviation, you also need to indicate what type of abbreviation you have entered. For example, you could select the exchange that assigned the symbol (NASDAQ, NYSE, etc.), or select an investment type.

If you don't see your exchange listed, or none of the available choices are appropriate, you can enter a new one.
