Кадровая частота (англ. Frames per Second (FPS), Frame rate, Frame frequency) — количество сменяемых кадров за единицу времени в компьютерных играх, телевидении и кинематографе. Понятие впервые использовано фотографом Эдвардом Майбриджем, осуществлявшим эксперименты по хронофотографической съёмке движущихся объектов несколькими фотоаппаратами последовательно. Общепринятая единица измерения — кадры в секундуLa velocidad de fotogramas (o frecuencia de fotogramas) es el número de fotogramas por unidad de tiempo en videojuegos, televisión y cine. El concepto fue utilizado por primera vez por el fotógrafo Eadweard Muybridge, quien experimentó con la fotografía cronofotográfica de objetos en movimiento utilizando varias cámaras en secuencia. La unidad de medida generalmente aceptada es fotogramas por segundo.
