All app stores have hard limits on these kinds of entries, including f-droid.org. Translators should edit the translations to keep it within the limit. For example, in this one, you could drop the "Many bug fixes" line if you thought that was least important. Also, it is important to note that changelog entries are usually written in a special abbreviated form that is well developed in computer English, and not used elsewhere in written English. Another approach is to use abbreviated forms. For example, in German, the common way to do that is to use short forms of common long words, e.g. beziehungsweise -> bzw. 10 months ago |

@anm It's a limit for all languages definded in https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroidserver/-/blob/master/fdroidserver/common.py#L150. You can open an issue there for further discussion. 10 months ago |

@anm It is a limitation in the platstore requirements. Not that F-Droid is on there, but I think they want to keep the same limits. The whole idea is to release often, so the changelogs aren't as long, and that might be a better "fix". 10 months ago |

@eighthave Dear owners of the project, long wanted to ask you to remove the limit of 500 characters for the language in which we translate. Due to the peculiarities of a number of languages, particularly Ukrainian and Russian, the translation will never be equal to English and other languages of this language family. We have to make considerable sacrifices in terms of translation quality because it is simply unrealistic to fit in 500 characters.
