Instructions for translators

Soundscape is a navigation/way finding app. Please ensure translations are accurate and the used terms match with the local environment. Many of our messages are intended to be spoken while the user is walking/driving, so keep announcements short and to the point.

  • Translations can be made directly.
  • Translation suggestions can be made.
  • Any authenticated user can contribute.
  • The translation uses monolingual files.
  • The translation base language is editable.

Soundscape now supports spatial audio with dynamic head tracking when using the Alto or Rondo versions of the Bose Frames. When connected to Soundscape, sensors in the Bose Frames tell Soundscape the direction your head is facing. This helps Soundscape to improve your audio experience, making it more natural as you move around in the world. When you use Soundscape with Bose Frames connected, you do not need to hold your phone for Soundscape to work correctly. To get started, go to the "Head Tracking Headphones" item in the Soundscape menu to connect your Bose Frames and follow the instructions on screen. Note that you will need to pair your Bose Frames to your phone in the Bluetooth settings before connecting them in Soundscape.

Source string changed
If you listen carefully you will hear that it is playing from right in front of you and that there is a bell sound in addition to the normal beacon sound. That is because you are facing directly towards @!destination!!.
