Instructions for translators

The English source language is maintained on Gitlab, not on Weblate.

Any other languages can be translated directly on Weblate. Translations will be synced back to Gitlab regularly, at least once before every new app release.

Translation notes:

  • Use the informal form for addressing the user. E.g. in German use lower-case "du" instead of "Sie".

- FMD Server: you can make instances private with a Registration Token. Requires FMD Server 0.5.0.
- FMD Server: you can disable regular background location uploads (e.g. to save battery). You can still force a location upload via push.
- OpenCelliD: you can test the API connection from within FMD. FMD also warns about the privacy risks of OpenCelliD.
- Migrate from Camera2 to CameraX. This should fix many issues around taking pictures.

If you updated from 0.2.9 to 0.3.0 on Android 13, please manually
(1) re-enter your FMD PIN in settings (if you use it), and
(2) delete your old FMD Server account and register a new one (if you use FMD Server).
This will manually migrate you. Sorry for the hassle.

I lost my new phone.
And because I don't use Google Services I couldn't locate it and my phone was gone for good.
In the hope that this doesn't happen again, I developed this application, so that I can locate the phone via SMS.

Features:

- Locate the device (using GPS or cellular location)
- Lock the device
- Let the device ring
- Take pictures with the device's camera to see its surroundings
- Factory-reset the device

Usage:

You can control FMD (and thus your phone) either via SMS or via FMD Server.
You send a command to the phone (e.g. "fmd ring") and the phone executes it.

For SMS you can either define a list of trusted contacts (phone numbers) that are allowed to send commands.
Or you can set a PIN to allow anonymous usage.
Then non-trusted phone numbers can also send commands by including the PIN in the message.
This is useful because now if you loose your phone, you can ask a random person for help to wipe your phone remotely.
If you simply text "fmd" to your phone FMD will reply with a text listing the available commands.

With FMD Server you get a web interface to send commands, to view the location of your device on a map,
and to view pictures taken by the device.
You can self-host FMD Server.

Я потерял свой новый телефон.
А поскольку я не пользуюсь сервисами Google, я не смог его найти, и мой телефон пропал навсегда.
В надежде, что подобное больше не повторится, я разработал это приложение позволяющее определять местонахождение телефона с помощью SMS.

Возможности:

- Найти устройство (с помощью GPS или сотовой связи)
- Заблокировать устройство
- Сделать что устройство зазвонило
- Делать снимки с помощью камеры устройства чтобы увидеть что вокруг него
- Сброс устройства до заводских настроек

Использование:

Вы можете управлять FMD (и, следовательно, вашим телефоном) либо с помощью SMS, либо через сервер FMD.
Вы отправляете на телефон команду (например, «fmd ring» чтобы зазвонить) и телефон ее выполняет.


Для SMS вы можете определить список доверенных контактов (номеров телефонов) которым разрешено отправлять команды.
Или вы можете установить PIN-код, чтобы разрешить анонимное использование.
Тогда ненадежные номера телефонов также смогут отправлять команды добавляя PIN-код в сообщение.

Вы можете самостоятельно создать себе сервер FMD.
