Instructions for translators

Thanks for helping to translate dComms!

To get started:

  1. Make an account on Weblate or sign in with your Github or Gitlab ID. Note: Account creation is not required, but you will only be able to suggest translations in this case

  2. Visit the dComms project page - which lists all components and their strings.

  3. On the dComms project page's 'Languages' tab, choose the language you want to work on, or -- in case the language doesn't exist yet -- initiate a new language by selecting a component from the main project page and clicking on the "Start a new translation" button. Please note that we can't support shipping arbitrary translations with our published materials unless they have a reviewer (see below).

  4. Please contact the dComms team at vitaliy AT equalitie DOT org if you are interested in becoming a reviewer for translation(s) in your language(s).

  5. For more information about how to use Weblate, see the Weblate documentation

Matrix.org is neither independent, nor can the instances all communicate with each-other. If that is to say "independent of each-other", and "technically capable of communicating with eac-other", both are misleading for what purports to be a user guide.

Firefox for Android is not popular. "Free/Libre/Open Source" is hard to understand before attempted translations. "built on" can be omitted.

Doesn't the de-federation implemented between instances mean that is a "a user can maybe interact with other services without registering on them"? Also, it isn't clear what local control entails here.

This does a lot to pretend Matrix (and to some degree Mastodon) functions in a way that it doesn't. One could detail that as an aim.
