You can choose the location method - the <i>System</i> one uses Google services to get the location by networks (cell and Wi-Fi networks). The <i>Local MLS and Nominatim</i> option uses Mozilla location service to get location coordinates and Nominatim service to get location names. The second option requires phone call permissions to fetch info about the cellular network. The preferred option is preselected.

Some phones don't report connected cells correctly unless the display is on. The preferred option (with display switched on) has the disadvantage that the phone switches the display on for several seconds. This has a small impact on battery life. Start with it on, and try switching it off and see if the location still updates.
Sommige toestellen rapporteren onjuiste mobiele netwerken tenzij het scherm aanstaat. De voorkeursoptie (het scherm aanzetten) heeft als nadeel dat het scherm enkele seconden wordt aangezet. Dit zorgt voor een iets kortere batterijduur. Begin met de aanbevolen optie en schakel deze later uit om te zien of de locatie dan nog steeds wordt bijgewerkt.

You can reduce data usage by caching found locations. Locations are then stored in the app. They are not sent or stored other places in the network.
