There is a "Maximum length of translation" check enforced to 500. However some source texts are too large (e.g. this one is 802 chars long) to be translated within this limit. Please increase the limit for the project or make it optional

Sorry, I can't do that. Google limits changelogs to 500 characters. If I allow longer, I can't publish app updates. The only way the limit can be increased is if Google changes their limits.
No clue why this one's source is more than 500 characters, but that's just inherited from Loyalty Card Keychain on which Catima is based on. It's a very old changelog entry too.

I didn't rewrite this, it seems @kingu did. And in doing so through Weblate instead of by editing CHANGELOG.md in the git repository it caused some conflicts I have to fix (oops) and will be overwritten again in Weblate next sync.
I've changed the Weblate settings so this conflict can't be caused again.

That's not to say I'm opposed to these changelogs (despite being old) being cleaned up, by the way (I'm seeing now how it can be misinterpreted like that). It just has to be done through changing the CHANGELOG.md file in the git repository because that's where the fastlane files are generated from. Otherwise the changes will be overwritten again. It's purely a tooling issue.
