The app determines location using cellular network (BTS), Wi-Fi, and if those fail; GPS to show local weather, in turn getting the coordinates from the Mozilla location service. The application needs at least: one base station of GSM network or two reachable wifi networks or any combination of GSM and Wi-Fi networks. Using the widget on your phone or tablet, you can see your location and current weather on the main screen. Location updates can be periodic, (ex. hourly) or the app can use the accelerometer to detect movement of greater distance than a value. Carried in your pocket, the distance increases faster. You can switch location updates off - only weather is then updated. The app updates location and weather in specified intervals. You can for example set update period to one hour o'clock. The weather is updated immediately after location is, or when the screen is turned on - but not more often then once per 15 minutes (and when weather is not updated in the last 15 minutes). These information are used to get location coordinates by Mozilla location service. The app tries to use GPS when location is not available from cell network and Wi-Fi networks. Location coordinates are used to get address by Nominatim service. The address is used in the app or widget. The app uses Open-Meteo (https://open-meteo.com) service to get current weather.
De applicatie gebruikt het mobiele netwerk, Wi-Fi en GPS om uw locatie op te vragen en het weer te weergeven op uw daadwerkelijke locatie. Als u de widget gebruikt op uw telefoon of tablet, dan kunt u uw locatie en de huidige weersomstandigheden zien. Als de afstand langer dan de minimale waarde is, dan wordt uw locatie bijgewerkt. De afstand is afhankelijk van hoe u uw telefoon bij u draagt: als u uw telefoon in een zak meeneemt, dan wordt de afstand sneller berekend omdat de telefoon beweegt terwijl u onderweg bent. Het weer wordt onmiddellijk bijgewerkt na het bijwerken van uw locatie. Het weer wordt ook bijgewerkt als het scherm wordt aangezet, maar niet meer dan eens per 15 minuten (en het weer niet is bijgewerkt in de laatste 15 minuten). Om de locatie op te vragen wordt gebruik gemaakt van het mobiele netwerk (BTS) en Wi-Fi. Deze informatie wordt gebruikt om de locatiecoördinaten op de vragen bij Mozilla's locatiedienst. De applicatie probeert GPS te gebruiken als er geen locatie kan worden gevonden via een netwerk. De locatiecoördinaten worden gebruikt om een adres op te vragen bij Nominatim's dienst. The main app contains an overview of the current weather. You can update the weather using the refresh button in the app panel or by sliding down. You can find the update location button next to the refresh weather button. This button is only available when location 0 is enabled (location 0 is intended for automated update of location).
Het hoofdscherm bevat een overzicht van het huidige weer. Je kunt het weer bijwerken door op de knop Bijwerken op de werkbalk te drukken of door omlaag te vegen. De bijwerken-knop bevindt zich naast de verversknop. Deze knop is alleen beschikbaar als locatie 0 beschikbaar is (locatie 0 is bestemd voor automatisch bijwerken van de locatie).

Next to the update location button, there is a location management button (magnifier icon). You can manage locations available in the app and widgets. There is one location (Location 0) available by default - this is intended for automatic location updates. You can find enable/disable button when you slide this location leftwards. You can also add location manually. When you click on the + button you can pick up your location on map. You can also delete the location with the Delete button - which is accessible when you slide location leftwards.

You can choose the location method - the <i>System</i> one uses Google services to get the location by networks (cell and Wi-Fi networks). Some phones don't report connected cells correctly unless the display is on. The preferred option (with display switched on) has the disadvantage that the phone switches the display on for several seconds. This has a small impact on battery life. Start with it on, and try switching it off and see if the location still updates.
