 Региональные различия, в частности, в отношении орошаемого земледелия и различных климатических условий (включая климатическую вариативность), должны учитываться при интерпретации этого показателя, особенно в странах с большими объемами доступных водных ресурсов. Также по этой причине связь этого показателя с нагрузкой на водные ресурсы (6.4.2) важна для интерпретации данных. 
<h2> Получение международно сопоставимых данных для глобального мониторинга: </h2>
 Данные для этого показателя собираются с помощью вопросника / таблицы расчетов, которые позволяют странам определять необходимые параметры и проводить некоторые предварительные контрольные проверки. 
 Собранные таким образом данные затем анализируются экспертами ФАО, а также, при необходимости, группой GEMI (Глобальная инициатива по управлению окружающей средой). Затем результаты анализа доводятся до сведения страны с тем, чтобы обеспечить согласованность и гармонизацию методов, определений и результатов. 
 ФАО подготовила пошаговый методологический документ, призванный предоставить техническое руководство для страновых групп. Кроме того, готовится средство дистанционного обучения в виде онлайн-курса, который будет готов в начале 2018 года. Наконец, готовится проект общего руководства.

Data availability:
The data needed for the indicator are collected through AQUASTAT and other databases (FAOSTAT, UNSD) for 168 countries worldwide
Time series:
1961-2019 (Discontinuous depending on the country. Data are interpolated to create timelines). 
Disaggregation:
The indicator covers all the economic sectors according to the ISIC classification, providing the means for more detailed analysis of the water use efficiency for national planning and decision-making. 
Although the subdivision into three major aggregated economic sectors is sufficient for the purpose of compiling the indicator, wherever possible it is advisable to further disaggregate the indicator, according to the following criteria:

<li>Economically, a more refined subdivision of the economic sector can be done using ISIC Rev.4 by the following groups:<ul>
<li>Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (ISIC A); </li>
<li>Mining and Quarrying (ISIC B); </li>
<li>Manufacturing (ISIC C);</li>
<li>Electricity, Gas, Steam and Air Conditioning Supply (ISIC D); </li>
<li>Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation Activities (ISIC E), by</li>
<li>Water Collection, Treatment and Supply (ISIC 36) <ul>
<li>Sewerage (ISIC 37)</li>
<li>Construction (ISIC F)</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Other industries (sum of remaining industries)</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Geographically, computing the indicator by river basin, watershed or administrative units within a country.</li>
</ul>
These levels of disaggregation, or a combination of those, will give further insight on the dynamics of water use efficiency, providing information for remedial policies and actions.
Data are vertically interpolated in the presence of missing values to allow for a time series analysis.

 Показатель охватывает все секторы экономики в соответствии с классификацией МСОК, предоставляя средства для более детального анализа эффективности водопользования для национального планирования и принятия решений. 
 Хотя разделение на три основных агрегированных сектора экономики, как определено в главе 3, является достаточным для целей составления показателя, но по возможности рекомендуется дополнительно дезагрегировать показатель в соответствии со следующими критериями:

<li> С экономической точки зрения, более детальное разделение экономического сектора может быть выполнено с использованием МСОК ред.4 по следующим группам: <ol>
<li> Сельское хозяйство, лесоводство и рыболовство (МСОК A); </li>
<li> Горнодобывающая промышленность и разработка карьеров (МСОК B); </li>
<li> Обрабатывающая промышленность (МСОК C); </li>
<li> Снабжение электроэнергией, газом, паром и кондиционированным воздухом (МСОК D); </li>
<li> Водоснабжение; системы канализации, удаление отходов и меры по восстановлению окружающей среды (МСОК E), по </li>
<li> Сбор, очистка и распределение воды (МСОК 36) <ol>
<li> Системы канализации (МСОК 37) </li>
<li> Строительство (МСОК F) </li>
</ol>
</li>
<li> Прочие отрасли (сумма оставшихся отраслей) </li>
</ol>
</li>
<li> По географическому критерию, расчет показателя по бассейнам рек, водоразделам или административным единицам внутри страны. </li>
</ol>
 Эти уровни дезагрегирования или их комбинация дадут возможность сформировать мнение об изменении эффективности водопользования , предоставив информацию для разработки программ и мер по исправлению положения.
