If you underspend or overspend on your budget, you can rollover the difference to the next period, so that the amount that you can allocate there is either increased or decreased. There are three options:

<![CDATA[After you select the file you want to import, you need to configure how the file is encoded (UTF-8 or ISO-8859-1), which character separates fields (comma, semicolon or tab), and how dates are formated. Data can be either imported into an existing account, or a new one, where you can configure the currency and the account type.<br><br>After you hit the Parse button from the action bar, the data will be presented you in a table. Before triggering the import through the button in the action bar, you can select rows that you want to discard, and you have to map the columns to the respective data fields.<br><br>When you discard the first row, you are prompted if you want it to be treated as a header line, in which case <i>My Expenses</i> will try to automatically map the columns based on the content of the header cells. It will also remember your mapping based on the header line, and restore it, when you import a file with the same header format the next time.]]>

The balance sheet shows the net worth of all your accounts as the difference between your Assets (what you own) and your Liabilities (what you owe). It reflects your financial position at a chosen moment — whether in the past, the present, or even in the future. The balance sheet presentation is also influenced by flags (which can change the inclusion of accounts in totals).

Flags let you configure an account’s visibility and priority:
• Hide rarely used accounts, while still choosing whether invisible accounts are included in aggregate accounts and the balance sheet.
• Prioritize favorite accounts in the account selection on the transaction form.
You can also use flags to indicate accounts belonging to a specific purpose, like household versus personal accounts, and then alternatively only show one or the other.

Account types classify accounts as
• <b>Assets</b> (something you own, such as cash, bank accounts, or investments) or as
• <b>Liabilities</b> (something you owe, such as credit cards or loans).
You can add custom types and set their order, which mainly affects how they appear on the balance sheet.
