LiftTrace is a self-hosted workout tracker for lifters. Workout diary, program templates, exercise library (wger + Free Exercise DB + ExerciseDB + ExerciseDB Open Source), multi-week progression, PR and volume analytics, coaching workflow, a Radio tab that streams from your own Subsonic / Jellyfin / Plex / Emby library or internet radio, and a built-in AI assistant called Trace. Web/PWA and Android from a single Svelte codebase with a Node/SQLite backend. AGPL-3.0.

Thanks for translating! A few notes that help keep translations consistent with the rest of the app.

Tone

The English copy is informal and direct ("Ready to train?", "Tap to add exercise"). Aim for the same register in your language rather than translating to a more formal style. Use the second person ("you") if your language has that distinction.

Do not translate

These stay in English in every locale:

• LiftTrace, NutriTrace, CookTrace (project names)
• Trace (the AI assistant's name)
• wger, Free Exercise DB, ExerciseDB, ExerciseDB Open Source (exercise data sources)
• Subsonic, Jellyfin, Plex, Emby, radio-browser.info (music and radio services)
• Strong, Hevy, FitNotes, Jefit, Garmin FIT (workout-history import formats)
• Docker, OAuth, OIDC, AGPL (technical terms with no locale-specific variant)
• RPE, AMRAP, PR, 1RM (established lifting acronyms, kept as-is in every locale)

Lifting terminology

For gym vocabulary, use the term lifters in your language actually say, not the literal translation of the English word. Common ones that have naturalized:

• Set often becomes "serie" (Spanish, Italian, French)
• Warm-up: "calentamiento" (ES), "riscaldamento" (IT), "échauffement" (FR)
• Rest: "descanso" (ES), "riposo" (IT)
• Superset varies by language: Spanish uses "superserie", Italian often keeps "superset" as a loanword. Use what your gym scene says.

Placeholders and formatting

Strings often contain {placeholder} tokens like {date}, {count}, {name}, or {weight}. Keep them exactly as written and place them in the right grammatical position for your language. The app injects the actual value at runtime.

Some strings contain HTML tags like <strong>, <br>, or <a>. Keep the tags in place; only translate the visible text between them.

Length awareness

Some UI buttons are tight on small screens (mobile). If your translation is significantly longer than the English, consider a shorter synonym, especially for primary actions like "Save", "Add", "Log", "Cancel", "Finish".

Questions

For questions about a specific string (ambiguous wording, unclear context, what a placeholder represents), leave a comment on the string itself in Weblate. The maintainer answers there, and your context helps every other translator working on the same string.
