Pika nadomešča vsak znak. Vprašaj nadomeščae:
. Decimalna pika se ujema s katerimkoli znakom.
? Vprašaj se ujema z nič ali eno ponovitevim pojavom prejšnjega znaka ali skupine znakov. Zvezdica nadomešča nič ali več ponovitev. Plus nadomešča eno ali več ponovitev. Za združevanje izrazov uporabite oklepaje. Alternativne možnosti označite s pomočjo navpične črte. Narobe obrnjena strešica označuje.
* Zvezdica se ujema z nič ali več pojavi.
+ Plus se ujema z enim ali več pojavi.
() Uporabi oklepaje za združevanje izrazov.
| Alternativne možnosti določi z navpičnico.
