Thanks, the problem with locale was that language, place and people are synonyms, as in India language changes with change in state, like the word 'Marathi' could mean the the language or the people of Maratha, modern day Maharahtra ( a state of India, but literal translates to super state ). What i did is write the Hindi word for local which could mean both place, people and language. BTW is there a way to globally comment language specific instructions on the translations homepage ?

@KushagraKarira: This string ("locale") is the headline of a help text, which describes what a locale is. You should translate it consistently to all the other places where "locale" appears. By the way: in several languages "locale" is left untranslated. Or the English "locale" is added in brackets after the translated word. Like in German: "Gebietsschema (locale)". I hope, this answers your question. (To be honest, I was unsure, what your question is exactly...)
