Instructions for translators

We're just beginning to use Weblate to help us with translating - and maintaining translations of - Chrysalis, so the workflows aren't that well defined yet. Before starting a translation, please get in touch by opening an issue on GitHub.

If any of the source strings are unclear, if you need more context how they're used, feel free to ask on the Keyboardio Discord.

Translation process
  • Translations can be made directly.
  • Translation suggestions can be made.
  • Any authenticated user can contribute.
  • The translation uses monolingual files.
  • The translation base language can not be edited.

Assign macros to keys. To create or modify macros, you can use the Arduino IDE to customize the Kaleidoscope 'Sketch' file for your keyboard.

Tap to activate for next keypress, hold to act like a regular modifier, double tap to toggle modifier.

Lets you assign secondary functionality to a key. When tapping these augmented keys, you'll get the primary function. When holding them, the secondary action will be performed.
Ermöglicht es, einer Taste eine sekundäre Funktion zuzuweisen. Beim Tippen der Taste erfüllt sie ihre primäre Funktion, beim Halten wird die sekundäre Funktion ausgeführt.

Due to firmware limitations, shifting to layers above "{{ layer8 }}" is not supported via secondary actions.
Auf Grund von Beschränkungen der Firmware ist es nicht möglich mittels sekundärer Aktionen auf Ebenen über „{{ layer8 }}“ umzuschalten.
