Instructions for translators

Thanks for helping to translate CENO!

To get started:

  1. Make an account on Weblate or sign in with your Github or Gitlab ID. Note: Account creation is not required, but you will only be able to suggest translations in this case

  2. Visit the Censorship.no project page - which lists all components and their strings (including Android app strings, the web browser extension, the User Manual and the website).

  3. On the Censorship.no project page's 'Languages' tab, choose the language you want to work on, or -- in case the language doesn't exist yet -- initiate a new language by selecting a component from the main project page and clicking on the "Start a new translation" button. Please note that we can't support shipping arbitrary translations with our published materials unless they have a reviewer (see below).

  4. Please contact the CENO team at cenoers AT equalit DOT ie if you are interested in becoming a reviewer for translation(s) in your language(s).

  5. If you plan to translate the User Manual, please get acquainted with Markdown first (e.g. with this cheatsheet).

Yes and no. Anyone with enough understanding of Ouinet's operations could construct a tool to find out what IP addresses a particular content is being shared from (as with BitTorrent). However, it is not possible to target a specific IP address and get a list of all the content seeded by clients behind it.

Currently, the only content that is seeded by Ceno is any non-private Web content which was requested in public browsing mode. This also means that users do not seed anything they have not accessed themselves in the recent past.

Hopefully not. As mentioned above, Ceno Browser tries hard to remove any private data (passwords, cookies…) from any request for injection. In addition, the injector does not itself do any seeding; in fact, its sole purpose is to sign content so that Ouinet clients can seed it. This means that when the content comes back to the client, it is further analyzed, and if the origin server indicated that it is of a private nature, Ceno will not seed it either.
Umarız sızmaz. Yukarıda belirtildiği gibi Ceno Browser içerik ekleyicilerine yapılan isteklerden tüm kişisel verileri (parolalar, çerezler...) çıkarak şekilde ayarlanmıştır. Ayrıca içerik ekleyicileri hiçbir göndermedağıtma işlemi yapmaz, yalnızca diğer Ouinet istemcilerinin içerik gönderimidağıtımı yapabilmesi için içeriği imzalar. İçerik istemciye geldiğinde, yeniden incelenir ve kaynak sunucu kişisel gibi görünüyorsa, Ceno gönderidağıtım yapmaz.
