A question about this chain, if I may.

By the word hinting, they mean https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Font_hinting

But I am in doubt whether to use instruction or hinting from the source.

Since both are correct, but I would almost stick with: Source hinting

But I don't know which one you are looking for better for this sentence?
